Wakayama Prefecture, boasting the largest peach production in western Japan, is a well-known peach region among those in the know. Particularly, the area along the Kinokawa River in the northern part of the prefecture began cultivating peaches during the Edo period at the command of the Kishu domain lord of the Tokugawa family. The well-drained soil, containing sandy gravel, combined with the relentless efforts of the local farmers over many years, results in delicious peaches. When you peel back the thin, silk-like, pale pink skin, incredibly soft and sweet juice gushes out.
The fruit liqueur “Wakayama Momo” blends this sweet juice with domestic white wine. It is a drink that brings the sweet fragrance of peaches, offering an elegant and delightful experience.
